Concerns of blue/green algae in Lake Pocotopaug this summer resulted in weekly water testing to determine the safety of the lake’s water.
According to a statement on the East Hampton town web site the most recent test taken Sept. 2, showed a level 2 of algae present. It was determined by that test that “toxicity and blue/green levels do not meet the threshold of a category 3,” which would require posting no swimming signs.
