FAQs - about the new Web site
Here are answers to some Frequently Asked Questions about the new HTNP.com Web site:
1. I was a registered reader on the old site - do I need to register again? Yes and you can do so by posting a comment on a story, which will prompt you to register.
2. Where are all the old comments on the stories? In the switch to the new site, most of the old comments, unfortunately, were deleted. Please feel free to post new comments.
3. Why aren’t my comments showing up right away? At this time, all comments are being moderated because of concerns with spam (junk e-mails).
4. Do I need to update my bookmark for this site? Yes.
5. I bookmarked some stories on this site and now they don’t work - why? When stories were moved to this new site, their URLs changed. You can do a search (see box on main page) by story title and you should be able to locate these stories. If you are unable to locate a story, please email the editor at eheditor@htnp.com
6. What’s new on this site? There are a number of new features.
For example, there is a calendar on the main page which allows you to click on a specific date and see all the stories that were posted that day.
And at the end of each story, you will now see an icon that says “share this” which will bring up a number of choices, so you can use your favorite one.
You can also sign on for news and comment fees (see upper right corner of the main page)
7. I have a story idea, who do I contact? Your suggestions are very welcome and you can email them to eheditor@htnp.com We also welcome reader-submitted photos and press releases or even short “blurbs” about community activities - again, just email them to the editor.
8. Can I post my event on the community calendar? The old site had a do-it-yourself community calendar that required readers to register to post events. We are now back to the “traditional” calendar - you send items to the editor and s/he posts them.
