Attention East Hampton Dog Owners! Have you renewed your pup’s license this year? If you haven’t gotten around to it, now is the time. The Town Clerk’s office will soon be sending out notices to owners of any pooches who’ve lapsed on their license renewal. All dogs over six months of age are under legal obligation to be licensed in the town of East Hampton, and any dog without a license may be subject to infraction by the Dog Warden. Make sure to keep your furry friend out of the doghouse!
Renewing your dog’s license is easy, thanks to the Town Clerk’s website. Click here to begin the renewal process. Use of the online service costs $1.75 in addition to the licensing fee.
Before you can renew, you’ll need to make sure that your dog is up to date on his or her rabies shots. Click here to view the Town Clerk’s list of rabies clinics in the area.
If you’ve never licensed your dog before, you’ll need to make a visit to the Town Clerk’s office. Be sure to bring your dog’s current record of rabies vaccination that has been signed by your veterinarian as well as proof that your pet has been spayed or neutered (if applicable). For more information, click here to visit the Town Clerk’s dog licensing webpage.
If your dog is spayed or neutered, your license will cost $8 per year. For dogs that have not been fixed, the cost is $19. Two dollars and six dollars respectively from the licensing fees are given to the State Animal Population Control Fund.
