The East Hampton Senior Center celebrates the 2013 National Senior Center Month throughout September with many events, programs and an open house to showcase exactly what East Hampton’s Senior Center provides for older adults (60 and over) in the community.
The theme for this celebration is “Experts at Living Well.”
The kick-off for the month-long celebration will be on Wednesday, Sept. 4, featuring Brain Games and Lunch and Learn from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Lunch and Learn continues every Wednesday, same time, through the month of September. Topics will include:
Sept. 4: Prepare for Hurricanes, American Red Cross;
Sept. 11: Veterans benefits;
Sept. 18: Personal/home safety with East Hampton Police;
Sept. 25: Medicare 101
On Monday Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. the center will host a panel of local seniors who are ‘experts at living well,’ who will share just what that means.
And on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 1 to 4 p.m., you’re invited to an Open House with a host of “Experts at Living Well.”
The Senior Center is located at 105 Main Street (next to the library).
Questions? Please call the senior center at 860-267-4426.
The Senior Center is open (except during holidays) Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
(Editor’s note: The Senior Center blog appears to be inactive as of this posting, so please contact the center for information about other upcoming events and check back here for additional Senior Center news.)
