The East Hampton Parks and Recreation Department has sponsored several walks this summer with the theme of “Explore East Hampton,” and there are only two more left in the series.
The goal of the monthly walks is to introduce people – residents old and new, visitors from neighboring towns, and others – to the history and beauty of East Hampton, CT.
The walks may also spark new friendships, be a part of your goal of getting out and enjoy the outdoors more, and provide lots of tidbits for New England history buffs.
Many of the walks end at the beautiful Chatham Historical Museum at 6 Bevin Boulevard. The walks are open to both adults and children, but please leave the family dog at home.
- Sunday, Sept. 8 from 1 to 2 p.m., a tour of Lake Pocotopaug Island – meet at 11 Old Marlborough Road.
- Sunday, Oct. 6 from 1 to 2 p.m., Hog Hill Cemetery Walk – meet at 277 Hog Hill Road.
