Robert M. Lawson, 82, of East Hampton CT – widower of Patricia (Prout) Lawson – died on Monday, Aug. 12 2013 at Marlborough Medical Center.
He was an active member of the East Hampton Lions Club, East Hampton American Legion and the East Hampton VFW. He proudly served his country in the Air Force during World War II.
He was a previous member of the East Hampton Zoning Board of Appeals. And he worked for the former East Hampton Town News.
Born March 18, 1931 in Hartford, he was the son of the late Frank and Fannie (Ingraham) Lawson.
Bob was a lifelong resident of East Hampton. He graduated from East Hampton High School in 1949, and had served as class president.
He was employed as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for INSILCO and MRN Industries, until his retirement.
In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends in Connecticut and at his home-away-from-home at the lake house in Ossipee, New Hampshire.
He is survived by his son Christian “Chris” Lawson and his wife Susan of Marlborough, CT; two daughters, Cindy Chasse and her husband Rob of Middletown, CT and Pamela Bogomolny and her husband Mike of Ohio; three sisters-in-law – Joan Lawson, Dorothy Lawson and Doris Lawson, all of East Hampton; his three beloved grandchildren Haley, Jackson and Chandler Bogomolyn; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by his three brothers Frank, Everett and Kenneth.
Calling hours were held at the Spencer Funeral Home on Aug. 15. Burial was at Lake View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
