Entitled, “McConnell Fudges Facts in Attacks on Bevin,” author Robert Farley dismantles what he depicts as a smear campaign on the part of Sen. Mitch McConnell aimed at his Republican primary challenger Matt Bevin, who is campaigning for a seat on the U.S. Senate.
Bevin – a resident of Louisville, Kentucky – is also the owner of the East Hampton CT landmark business, Bevin Bros. Bells which has been climbing its way back from a devastating fire in May 2012.
According to Farley, Sen. McConnell has used that struggle – pointing to Connecticut state funds Bevin has received to get his business back on its feet – to label his opponent “Matt ‘Bailout’ Bevin.”
Videos of McConnell’s campaign ads are included in the story.
Farley writes that “attacks have often stretched the truth or outright misled viewers.”
