Press Release

East Hampton High School will hold Freshman Orientation at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22 for parents of students (and the students) who will be ninth graders in the fall.  The school is located at 15 North Maple St.

This is an opportunity for parents/guardians and students to learn about the high school and meet teachers, school counselors and administrators.

The orientation program is organized and run by upperclassmen. Members of the Class of 2017 will receive information on athletics, clubs and other extra curricular activities.

In addition, they will tour the school, participate in community-building activities and receive an orientation packet containing a copy of their schedule, a map of the school and their locker assignment.

The orientation component for parents is designed to provide information to help their children make a successful transition to high school. Parents will meet with administrators, guidance counselors and school staff.

The evening includes presentations by the five academic chairs who will talk about courses that incoming students select.
