Maribeth Abrams – a nutritional consultant, author of cookbooks and articles focused on food, and holistic health practitioner – will host a fun and informative, game show-style presentation called Nutrition Mythbusters.

Abrams is known for her energetic and accessible way of presenting her knowledge.

Everyone is invited to this event at the Thursday, April 4 meeting of the Vegetarian Society of Eastern Connecticut at Jack Jackter Intermediate School cafeteria in Colchester.

You don’t have to be a vegetarian to attend.

The meeting begins promptly at 6:30 p.m., so please plan to arrive a little earlier and get ready to sharpen your knowledge about healthier ways to live – and win a prize!

If you can, please bring a meatless or vegan dish to share and serving utensils for your food. If you bring a dish, please also provide the recipe and a list of the ingredients. Please also bring a place setting for yourself (plate, utensils, napkin, cup) and whatever non-alcohol beverage you’d like.

Court finds Apple part of conspiracy to fix eBook pricing

Judge Denise L. Cote of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said that evidence presented in a trial held in June 2013 shows that Apple played a central role in facilitating and executing a conspiracy designed to eliminate retail price competition in order to raise eBook prices.

To date, approximately $164 million has been recovered through settlements for consumers nationwide.
