You are invited to “The Authority,” an entertaining presentation about outhouses /backhouses/ privy buildings at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12 in the Community Room of the East Hampton Library.

The talk will be given by Georg Papp, Sr. OBPA, of Colchester, CT … an author and someone who has been building and researching outhouses for many years.

Papp has been a guest on Boston, Springfield and Hartford television programs, as well as WNPR radio.

With a “mini-privy,” picture board and anecdotes, he talks about building this icon of Americana in a unique, folksy style designed to educate as well as serve its intended function.

This event is sponsored by the Chatham Historical Society, which will receive proceeds from the sale of signed copies of Mr. Papp’s book, “The Authority of outhouses/backhouses/privy buildings.”
