Anita Marie Ackerman of East Hampton CT

Police have declined to comment on the cause of death of 22-year-old Anita Ackerman formerly of Hebron, most recently a resident of East Hampton CT, stating via email that her death continues to be under investigation.

Anita died on Friday, Aug. 20. She had a long record of arrests related to narcotics, the most recent being July 3.

Her funeral is scheduled for this Friday, July 27 at 11 a.m. at the Spencer Funeral Home, 112 Main St., East Hampton. Calling hours are the same day, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Anita Marie Ackerman, 22, of East Hampton, CT beloved daughter of Michael Ackerman and Cheryl Rand, both of East Hampton, died Friday, July 20 at Middlesex Hospital Marlborough Medical Center.

Born Sept. 14, 1989 in Hartford, CT Anita had lived in Hebron, CT for 10 years before moving to East Hampton.

Anita was a 2007 graduate of East Hampton High School where she had many close friends. She loved animals (especially her dog, Dozer), fast cars and watching movies. She had a passion for music and was an avid reader and was very close to her family and grandparents.

Besides her parents, she is survived by her great-grandmother Helen Badrick, her paternal grandparents Arlene and Peter McArthur of East Hampton; maternal grandparents William and Gail Rand of Old Saybrook, CT; two sisters, Emilie and Olivia Ackerman of East Hampton; paternal aunts Colleen Ackerman, Melissa and Jeff Ackerman and cousin Christopher; maternal aunts and uncles, Kathy Erlandson, Valerie Stockberger and Don Richards, Wayne and Maria Rand, Mary Beth and Danny Julian; and many special cousins, and close dear friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 27 at 11 a.m. at the Spencer Funeral Home, 112 Main St., East Hampton. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA at www.aspca.org
