East Hampton Police make arrest in hit-and-run that left bicyclist in critical condition

East Hampton CT Police reportedly have made an arrest in connection with a hit-and-run accident that occurred at about 3:30 a.m. today, that left a bicyclist in critical condition.

NBC Connecticut is reporting that John Sialis-Giagios, of 79 East Center St., Apt. 4A, Manchester, CT has been arrested by East Hampton Police in relation to a hit-and-run accident early this morning (Feb. 18) that involved a bicyclist on Main Street.

The victim, 24-year-old William Sigman of Portland, CT is reported to be in critical condition. He was first taken to Marlborough Clinic and then flown by LifeStar to Hartford Hospital.

Police say the accident occurred at about 3:28 a.m. this morning.

Police say Sigman was struck from behind by a vehicle driving north on Main Street in the area of Edgerton Street.

East Hampton Police put out an advisory asking for any witnesses to help find the driver, described as driving a 2007-2009 model Mazda 3.

Anyone with additional information about the incident is asked to call East Hampton Police at 860-627-9922.
