East Hampton Senior Center – Christmas Tree Shop, Festival of Trees, and a culinary experience

The East Hampton CT Senior Center is hosting a trip to the Wadsworth Atheneum's annual Festival of Trees & Traditions in Hartford, CT on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011. Leaving new Senior Center parking lot at 9:15 a.m. Admission for the event is $10. A $3 transportation donation is asked. Lunch on you at the USS Chowder Pot. Payment due at sign-up at the Senior Center's temporary home at the Congregational Church, 59 Main St., East Hampton CT.
Senior Center activities have been temporary moved to East Hampton’s Congregational Church, 59 Main Street while renovations at the center are underway. Hours are now 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Monday through Friday for the next few months. We can still be reached at 860-267-4426.
PLEASE NOTE: Thanksgiving Holiday, Nov. 24 – 25, the Senior Center will be closed.
Need a ride?
Transportation applications are available at the East Hampton Senior Center (now temporarily located at the East Hampton Congregational Church). Please allow two weeks for the application to be processed, prior to scheduling a ride.
If you need a ride to the doctor, grocery shopping, hairdresser or barber, or activities at the senior center, please call the MAT Transit Authority in Middletown at 347-3313, at least 48 hours in advance to reserve your seat. Cost per ride is $1.50.

Portland Tri-Town Plaza/Dollar Store – Every Tuesday, 11:30 a.m. by Red Cross transportation.
East Hampton Stop & Shop- 10 a.m. every Friday, by Red Cross transportation.
Transportation provided from Bellwood Court and Chatham Acres.

Bring your own Craft Project – 11 a.m. to noon every Monday and Friday Everyone is invited to join the “Create and Chat” circle. Some of the projects include, but are not limited to, crocheting, knitting, monking and recycled creations. Questions? Call 860-267-4426.
Belltones – Belltones are back rehearsing- Wednesday’s at 12:30 p.m. at our temporary home, The Congregational Church.

Questions about Medicare? – In November, at 10 a.m. every Thursday at the Congregational Church, Joe Worblewski will be available for any questions you may have about Medicare. You can call the Senior Center or just pop in at the church.
October/ November Birthday Bash – Monday, Nov. 21 at noon. Thanks to October Storm Albert, we are combining both October and November birthday celebrations. So please let us know if you October Babes can reschedule and all you November Babes let us know if you would like to attend. Lunch, cake and a gift on us. Call 860-267-4426 to sign up and leave a message or stop in at the Church to register in advance.
Buckland Hills, Christmas Tree Shop & Olive Garden – Monday, Nov. 29. Leaving new Senior Center parking lot at 9 a.m. There will be scheduled times to visit stores and have lunch at Olive Garden. $3 transportation donation asked. Sign up at the Congregational Church or leave a message at 860-267-4426.

Cheney Tech Culinary Lunch – Wednesday, Dec. 7. $11 per person. Choice of 3 entrees which you can choose there. $3 transportation donation asked. Payment is due at sign-up at the Congregational Church, 59 Main St.
CEAP (Connecticut Energy Assistance Program) – Appointments for seniors and disabled will be made Tuesdays and Wednesdays, at the Town Hall. Appointments are from 1-3 p.m. Call the Senior Center at 860-267-4426 to make your appointment and to get more information on what you’ll need to bring. Appointments will be made for those over 60 years of age and/or disabled.
