The East Hampton Senior Center will be closed on Monday, Sept. 6 in observance of Labor Day.

Also, September is Senior Center Month so to celebrate, all transportation fees are waived for the month.

Need a ride?

Transportation applications are available at the East Hampton Senior Center. Please allow two weeks for the application to be processed, prior to scheduling a ride.

If you need a ride to the doctor, grocery shopping, hairdresser or barber or activities at the senior center, please call the American Red Cross in Middletown 48 hours in advance to reserve your seat. Call 860-347-3313. Cost per ride is $1.50 (except September).

Weekly shopping trips

Portland Tri-Town Plaza/Dollar Store – every Tuesday at 11:30 a.m., transportation provided by Red Cross

East Hampton Stop & Shop- every Friday at 10 a.m., transportation by Red Cross

Pick up and drop off is at Bellwood Court and Chatham Acres.

Wii Bowling practice sessions.

Find a partner, check the board for available days and times, sign up and come. Note: the Summer Tournament is Sept. 13 from 12:45 to 4 p.m.

Events

Seminar: Atty Jennifer Berkenstock Seminar- Thursday, Sept. 9 at 11 a.m. at the Senior Center. “Changes in the Probate Court System,” followed with a question and answer session. All are welcome to attend.

Hebron Harvest Fair-Friday, Sept. 10.  Leaving Senior Center @ 11:30am. Fair is free to seniors. Limited seats on bus (call 860-267-4426) or you can drive yourselves.

Wii Bowling Tournament: Monday, Sept.13 from1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Come join in the fun and cheer for the best team. Light refreshments will be served. Let us know if you need a ride to the event. 860-267-4426

Lunch at the beach: Rocky Neck State Park on Wednesday, Sept. 15, leaving center at 10 a.m. Bring your own bagged lunch.  Call to register for this trip. 860-267-4426

Mystic River Cruise- Thursday, Sept. 16, leaving the Senior Center at 9:30 a.m. Cruise on the Mystic River. Boat accommodates walkers and canes. Seats are limited. Cost for cruise is $10. You pay for your own lunch at the Seahorse Restaurant. Seats are limited on the bus or you can drive yourself. Sign up in the office. Questions? Call 860-267-4426

Big E CT Day – Wednesday, Sept.22, let’s go to the Big E! Leaving the Senior Center at 8:15 a.m. Entrance fee is $15. Limited amount of tickets. Call 860-267-4426. Limited seats on the bus or you can drive yourself.

Birthday Party- Monday, Sept.27 at noon. Please let the office know if you were born in September and if you would like to attend. Lunch, cake and gift on the Senior Center. Sign up in office. Questions? Call 860-267-4426

Cromwell Shopping- Wednesday, Sept. 29, leaving Senior Center at 12:30 .pm.

Bradley Air Museum and Mystery Lunch- Thursday, Sept. 30, leaving the Senior Center at 10:30 a.m. Exhibit is $8 and you buy your own lunch.
