Donate those returnables – including water bottles – to the Scouts
Boy Scout Troop 57 will conduct a bottle drive from 9 a.m. to noon, on Saturday, March 20, in the parking lot of American Distilling & Mfg Company, Inc., 31 East High Street (Route 66), next to Island Coffee Traders.
We sincerely appreciate the support of the entire community as we raise funds to pay our way in Scouting.
With the recent changes in the Connecticut bottle deposit laws, we would like to remind everyone about what we can accept:
- cans and bottles for sodas and beer, regardless of size
- and we can now accept water bottles, such as those with the Poland Spring, Dasani, Aquafina, and similar brand names on them as long as they have the “5 CT” designation on them.
All bottles and cans must be rinsed and clean.
It is helpful if beer bottles are in 6-pack carriers or cartons.
Other beverages such as wine, iced tea, juices and non-carbonated drinks such as Snapple and PowerAde are non-deposit items. We cannot accept these, please recycle those at home.
For large quantities, please call 860-267-2962 to arrange for pick-up or if you have any questions.
You may also contact Annette Kowalczyk at kowalczyk1553@sbcglobal.net.
Troop 57 is chartered by the Congregational Church of East Hampton.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing you on March 20.
