Goodspeed announces cast of upcoming ‘Annie Get your Gun’

“Annie Get your Gun” is the fictionalized story of Ohio sharpshooter Annie Oakley and her rise to fame as a performer in Buffalo Bill’s traveling Wild West Show.

The musical features some of Broadway’s greatest songs:  “There’s No Business Like Show Business,”  “Anything You Can Do,” and “ I Got The Sun In The Morning” to name just three.

Principles in the Goodspeed 2010 production include Jenn Gambatese of Broadway’s “Tarzan” and “All Shook Up” as Annie Oakley and Kevin Earley as Frank Butler, Annie’s love interest and competitor. Earley’s Broadway credits include such musicals as “Thoroughly Modern Millie” and “Les Misérables.”

David McDonald of Broadway hits “Bye Bye Birdie” and “Mama Mia” will play the role of flashy Showman Buffalo Bill Cody.

Goodspeed veteran Rebecca Watson will play the role of Dolly Tate. And Andrew Cao will play the role of Tommy Keeler.

Rounding out the principle cast will be Broadway actress Chelsea Morgan Stock as Winnie Tate, James Beaman as Charlie Davenport and Michael Nicols as Chief Sitting Bull.

Connecticut Natives Joy Rachel Del Valle of Farmington and Marissa Smoker and Griffin Birney, both of Branford are also part of the production as Annie’s young siblings.

Annie Get Your Gun will be directed by Rob Ruggiero, who has worked in a variety of award-winning theaters around the country, as well as the Goodspeed.

Other members of the crew include Music Director Michael O’Flaherty, Michael Schweikardt as Set Designer and Noah Racey as Choreographer.

The production will run from April 16 through June 27, 2010. Performance times are Wednesdays at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m.
