Fire Department asks you to consider reflective house numbers

by: Submitted Press Release Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

east-hampton-fire-dept-sign-campaign-12-15-091This Holiday Season, and all year-round, it’s important to ensure that emergency workers can find your house, even at night. That’s why the East Hampton Volunteer Fire Department is offering house numbers that can be seen in all weather conditions, day or night.

The house signs are double-sided, blue reflective markers with 4-inch, white reflective numbers.

They can be affixed to a post or mail box near the road. However, they must be placed on the property being marked – not on a mailbox placed across the street.

The markers are custom made for each home and can be mounted vertically or horizontally.

You can see samples and place an order on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings at the Company One Fire Station at 3 Barton Hill, or on Sunday mornings and Thursday evenings at the Company Two Fire Station at 366 West High St. (Cobalt).

All orders must be submitted on an order form, which is now available on the Town of East Hampton Web Site: www.easthamptonct.org , and mailed to: Fire Department, Attn: House Markers, #3 Barton Hill Rd, East Hampton, CT 06424.

Markers will be delivered by Fire Department personnel.

The price for each marker is $15. Installation also is available for $5 (no charge for senior citizens). Some additional materials may be required.

These markers, when posted correctly, meet the town’s requirements.

Emergency Services needs your help now, to find you in the future. Please take advantage of this service. Number your home; it’s the law and an investment in your safety in the future.
